Eagles and Ramblers ones to beat
Heading into the final stretch of the 2017 Gascoyne Football Association season, it appears the premiership is seemingly Exmouth’s to lose.
Although facing stiffer competition from Ramblers this season, the Eagles appear to be in cruise control at the top of the table.
Exmouth Eagles (First)
Continued where they left off from last season, with their only defeat coming in round 7 against Ramblers at Premier Oval. Stacked across every line, with Billy Timewell, Chase Faxon and Aarson Sheen having wonderful seasons.
Highest score — 31.23 (209) v Gascoyne (2.0 12), Round 2
Lowest score — 6.3 (39) v Ramblers (18.13 121), Round 7
The Tigers have improved remarkably this season, after a forgettable 2016. Have only lost twice so far in 2017, both to Exmouth. Brett Byron has been handy up forward, while Yarren Raven, Giuliano Condo and Adam Smart continue to do good things.
Highest score — 32.18 (210) v Warriors (5.5 35), Round 8
Lowest score — 7.2 (44) v Exmouth (19.9 123), Round 1
Regularly the enigma of the Gascoyne Football Association, Warriors have gone off the boil after making a satisfactory start to the 2017 season.
Haven’t got close to competitively matching the Eagles or Tigers for lengthy periods in a game. Highest score — 23.13 (151) v Gascoyne (9.8 62), Round 10 Lowest score — 1.4 (10) v Exmouth (23.10 148), Round 3
It’s been a lean year for the Hawks at league level, with only one win for the year. Things are rosier for the club at colts and nippers level. Highest score — 11.12 (78) v Warriors (9.9 (63), Round 7 Lowest score — 1.3 (9) v Ramblers (24.33 177), Round 3
