10¢ recycling views sought
Premier Mark McGowan has asked for community input into the Government’s container deposit scheme, which he hopes will create jobs and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
The scheme aims to encourage recycling by offering a 10¢ refund for individual empty drink containers, including plastic and glass bottles, paperboard cartons, and steel and aluminium cans.
Mr McGowan said the scheme could create up to 500 new jobs across WA.
