Boy accused of aggravated burglaries
Meekatharra police have charged a 16-year-old Leonora boy with burgling two properties while armed with a machete and threatening a woman early last Saturday morning.
Police will allege that the boy verbally threatened a female occupant at home during one of the burglaries and damaged two vehicles during the alleged rampage.
Police said the boy also had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on unrelated charges when he was arrested in Meekatharra about 7am on Saturday.
He was charged with aggravated burglary, going armed in public to cause fear, criminal damage and using threatening words.
He faced Geraldton Children’s Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody.
