In the run­ning for ed­u­ca­tion award

There is a hand­ful of Mid West schools and staff to watch in Novem­ber when the De­part­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion 2018 WA Ed­u­ca­tion Award win­ners will be an­nounced.

Bluff Point Pri­mary School’s Bar­bara Dal­gety is a fi­nal­ist for the WA Abo­rig­i­nal and Is­lan­der Ed­u­ca­tion Of­fi­cer of the Year.

Al­len­dale Pri­mary School is a con­tender for WA Pri­mary School of the Year and teacher Stephanie Briggs-Killick will be vy­ing for WA Premier’s Pri­mary Teacher of the Year.

Wiluna Re­mote Com­mu­nity School is a fi­nal­ist for the WA Premier’s Ex­cel­lence in Abo­rig­i­nal Ed­u­ca­tion Award and the school’s Mac Jensen is in the run­ning for WA School Ser­vices Staff Mem­ber of the Year.

Mid West ed­u­ca­tion staff are no strangers to the Ed­u­ca­tion De­part­ment awards. Last year, Al­len­dale Pri­mary School prin­ci­pal Lisa Crid­dle was an­nounced as the WA Pri­mary Prin­ci­pal of the Year.

Wiluna Re­mote Pri­mary School prin­ci­pal Adri­ano Tr­us­cott was also named a fi­nal­ist for that award.

Al­len­dale Pri­mary’s Katisha Barrett was a 2017 fi­nal­ist for the WA Be­gin­ning Teacher of the Year and Wiluna Pri­mary was a con­tender for the 2017 WA Premier’s Ex­cel­lence in Abo­rig­i­nal Ed­u­ca­tion Award.

The 2018 award win­ners will be an­nounced on Novem­ber 26.
