Best of city’s businesses praised at prestigious gongs
The winners of Spirit Radio and Red FM’s annual Best of Geraldton Awards were announced last week.
Community members had a chance to pick some of their favourite things in Geraldton across 10 categories.
Hogs Breath Cafe was the only multiple award winner on the night, taking home awards for best restaurant/eatery and best customer service for the second year in a row.
The reigning champion of Geraldton’s best coffee, Culinary HQ, was dethroned for the first time in four years, with the award going to Dome cafe.
The Geraldton Greenough Sunshine Festival was named the best local event for second year in a row, knocking out the City of Greater Geraldton’s inaugural Wind on Water Festival and Australia Day event.
The Rigters Supermarket Group once again cleaned up in the best supermarket category.
Wonthella SUPA IGA and Rigters SUPA IGA were both finalists, with the title handed to Queens SUPA IGA.
Midwest Charity Begins at Home took out the top spot for best not-for-profit, knocking out last year’s winner, Geraldton Dog Rescue.
The best builder award stayed with WA Country Builders and Chemist Warehouse was named Geraldton’s Best Chemist.
Geraldton Property Team took home the best real estate award while Southside Mechanical picked up the award for Best Mechanic.
The best pub award went to the Geraldton Hotel, which was hosting the awards night.
