African beats, buffet at tavern

Midwest Times - - THE EDGE -

Punters to the Bootenal Family Tavern this weekend will have the chance to immerse themselves in Wakanda, a unique African experience.

The family-friendly event will start at 2pm on Saturday with a beginners drumming workshop with African percussion instruments. The rhythm of the drumming will then be used in a dance workshop, which will be followed by a fire-twirling workshop. Participants will then have the chance to join the facilitators in a performance from 6.30pm. An authentic buffet of African food will be prepared by the African community members.

Each workshop costs $20 and tickets for the evening entertainment are $20, available on the door. To book a workshop, contact Steve Davidson on 0402 614 510 or stevedavidson.au@gmail.com.
