PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSIONS AND WORKSHOP ON COST RECOVERY
The Government of Western Australia has announced that fees will be charged to recover some of the costs relating to the provision of water licensing and environmental regulation. The Government also agreed that additional revenue raised by increased fees will be reinvested in the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to improve regulatory service delivery and efficiency.
A discussion paper—available at dwer.wa.gov.au/consultation/costrecovery—has been prepared to inform and guide public consultation on potential further changes to the department’s cost recovery approach for permits to clear native vegetation and water licences and permits.
As part of the 12-week public consultation process, the department is hosting a cost recovery information and workshop session in Geraldton on 10 October 2018.
