Community grants available

Midwest Times - - NEWS -

Round 20 of the City of Greater Geraldton’s Community Grants Program has opened.

The program is offered once a financial year for one-off events, activities or programs, and funding requests are capped at $20,000.

Mayor Shane Van Styn said the program had helped community groups with their projects since 2007.

“The aim is to provide assistance to community groups and organisations that make positive contributions to the quality of life within our region,” he said.

“These grants can really make a difference in our community and we’re happy that we can continue to offer them.”

Last year 14 community groups received a share of $175,000.

This year the City has set up an online portal to simplify the application process, making it easier for community groups to apply for funding.

The Community Project Support Grant Program will also be offered this year, which is available up to four times a financial year, with funding requests capped at $2000.

Applications close at 5pm on November 13.
