Works to up­grade me­mo­rial foot­paths

Works to up­grade foot­paths around the HMAS Syd­ney II Me­mo­rial are ex­pected to take two weeks to com­plete.

Dur­ing the works the slab foot­path on Thomas Av­enue, be­tween Brede Street and Gum­mer Av­enue, and on Gum­mer Av­enue, be­tween Thomas Av­enue and O’Collins Street, will be re­moved and re­newed.

The works started on Tues­day and an­tic­i­pated hours of work will be from 7am-6pm.

Traf­fic man­age­ment will be in place dur­ing this time and com­mu­nity mem­bers are asked to ex­er­cise cau­tion and obey all warn­ing signs and direc­tions.

The works are part of $959,000 al­lo­cated in the 2018/19 bud­get for the re­newal of foot­paths, which will see around 2345m of the City of Greater Ger­ald­ton’s foot­path net­work re­placed.
