Park hymns lift spirits
A Jurien Bay church held a Hymns in the Park service at the town’s Dobbyn Park earlier this month.
Church committee organiser and parishioner Nick Blowers said they sang eight hymns and told the stories of how and why they came to be written.
“Most started their lives as poems after disasters befall the poet who came to acclaim God,” Mr Blowers said.
“They were put to music shortly after they were written.”
He described the Jurien Bay Community Church as a non-denominational church that met at the CWA Hall. Mr Blowers said they planned another Hymns in the Park on Sunday, November 18.
Enquiries to church secretary Jim Rees are welcome on 9652 1949.
