Film marks launch of Se­niors Week

A screen­ing of the film The English­man Who Went up a Hill at Queens Park Theatre on Satur­day, Novem­ber 3, will kick off Se­niors Week ac­tiv­i­ties in Ger­ald­ton.

Ger­ald­ton Mayor Shane Van Styn will of­fi­cially open the week’s ac­tiv­i­ties on Sun­day, Novem­ber 11, at the QPT, with a show from The Flam­ing Galahs.

The fol­low­ing week will in­clude a num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing a print­ing work­shop, cook­ing lessons, a quiz about his­tor­i­cal Ger­ald­ton, out­door bowls, have a go at ukulele and bad­minton. Foot­ball West will also launch walk­ing foot­ball/soc­cer.

The Mayor’s Mys­tery Bus Tour will take place on Novem­ber 12 from 9am. Book­ings are essen­tial. All book­ings can be made and tick­ets pur­chased on weekdays at the QEII Cen­tre.

Pro­gram book­lets can be picked up from the QEII Se­niors and Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Durlacher Street and Mait­land Street, City venues or down­loaded from the City’s web­site at cgg.wa.gov.au. Se­niors Week is from Novem­ber 11-17.

The Mayor’s Mys­tery Bus Tour will re­turn as part of Se­niors Week 2018.
