Tourists hoping to visit the Kennedy Ranges National Park have been frustrated after the Shire of Upper Gascoyne was obliged to close the access road.

Shire chief executive John McCleary said trucks travelling to and from the Yangibana rare earth project have caused an estimated $2.6 million damage to Ullawarra Road. Mr McCleary said he had appointed Talis Consultants to work out a plan with project owner Hastings Technology Metals, which had agreed to pay for repairs.
