Families and friends have a ball on court
Luke Ertzen, president of the Spalding Park Tennis Club, was amazed.
Not so that his son Zak and his wife Stacey played tennis together on Saturday — but the fact they are still talking. “It’s most pleasant,” Ertzen said.
So was the fact that about 40 people played in the Mitchell and Brown-sponsored mixed doubles tournament.
“There were families, friends and a lot of fun,” Ertzen said.
“We had four divisions and about 20 pairs.
“It was really great for the club.
“There were a few nine and 10 year-olds and a dad-daughter combination in Julian and Rhiannon Jones.”
Zak Ertzen positions himself to send the ball sailing to the other side of the court.
