New Suffolk event raises money for East Anglia Children’s Hospice

Wattisham Mini Club continued its excellent charity work by hosting a new event at Blackthorpe Barn near Bury St Edmunds on April 9. The event was held in aid of East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH), a cause close to the club’s heart as one of its very active members, Robin Middleton, has a young son named Charlie who relies heavily on the charity.

Charlie’s Mini Adventure was the culmination of six month’s hard work, attracting great support from local businesses and fellow Mini clubs, with the venue kindly hosting the event at no cost. Despite heavy rain over 30 Minis and Steve Cooper’s Dodge Charger were present at the Stowmarket meeting point, with hot food, a raffle and several other stalls helping to raise plentiful smiles at Blackthrope. Despite the conditions the club managed to raise an impressive £840.46, and plans to make Charlie’s Mini Adventure a regular annual event.
