Name: James Kelly Car: 1987 Mini City Location: Dublin

I’ve taken plenty of inspiration from the Japanese Mini tuning scene to fully rebuild ‘Maggie’, my longterm project Mini. She’s running plenty of original Japanese parts including SSR split-rim wheels, an HKS exhaust, wide arches, Downton Garage lightweight flywheel, Bride seats and linked wipers. The engine’s still a 998, but completely rebuilt with new flat-top pistons, a Stage 1 kit, Swiftune SW5 cam and Aldon distributor. Handling wise, I’ve gone for a big order of KAD goodies such as front and rear anti-rollbars, adjustable tie rods and alloy hubs. There’s also KAD four-pots and 7.9inch vented discs squeezed under the SSR wheels.

James' Mini has had a full repaint. James has used Japanese parts to give his Mini a whole new look. In a previous guise.
