Takeda High Visits Hills Grammar
Kenthurst’s Hills Grammar recently welcomed 32 students from Takeda High in East Hiroshima in an exchange visit. Over the past eight years the two schools have fostered a relationship which is mutually beneficial in developing the students’ international perspectives and language skills.
But it wasn’t all hard work as the visitors also enjoyed a very Australian social and creative arts program to complement their class work.
And in the spirit of reciprocity, 43 Hills Grammar Japanese language students in years 8 to 11 will visit Takeda High this July, in the school’s fifth biennial visit to Japan.
Head of Languages Belinda Gerometta said: “There’s enormous value in cultivating a sister school relationship such as ours. In addition to the language immersion programs, the invaluable cultural experiences, friendships forged and exchange of ideas inspires our students to view the world from a more global perspective.”
