AN­ZAC Ser­vices in Hornsby on and around this year’s An­zac Day, 25th April

Sun­day 22 April

A Com­mem­o­ra­tion March will be held through Hornsby on Sun­day 22 April. Marchers will as­sem­ble ad­ja­cent to St. Peters Angli­can Church on Peats Ferry Road from 10am and march to the Hornsby Ceno­taph for an AN­ZAC Ser­vice at 11am. The March will in­clude Vet­er­ans, politi­cians and other VIPs, Emer­gency Ser­vice Mem­bers, and stu­dents from lo­cal pri­mary and sec­ondary schools.

Po­lice will close all rel­e­vant roads from ap­prox­i­mately 10.15am. The March will com­mence at 10.40am and pro­ceed along Peats Ferry Road to the Hornsby Ceno­taph. A mil­i­tary Catafalque Party Guard of Hon­our from 226 Aus­tralian Cadet Unit will be mounted prior to the Ser­vice com­menc­ing at 11am. The Guest Speaker on this oc­ca­sion will be Ju­lian Leeser MP, Fed­eral Mem­ber for Berowra.

Af­ter the Ser­vice, Vet­er­ans and el­i­gi­ble par­tic­i­pants will be in­vited for re­fresh­ments at Hornsby RSL Club.

Wed­nes­day 25 April

The AN­ZAC Dawn Ser­vice will be held on Wed­nes­day 25 April. Vet­er­ans, politi­cians and other VIPs, Emer­gency Ser­vice Mem­bers, and other el­i­gi­ble par­tic­i­pants will as­sem­ble from 4am out­side Hornsby RSL Club and march to to the Hornsby Ceno­taph at 4.45am. Po­lice will close all ma­jor roads in the area from 4am, with ma­jor barriers in place to de­ter po­ten­tial threats.

A mil­i­tary Catafalque Party Guard of Hon­our from 226 Aus­tralian Cadet Unit will be mounted prior to the Dawn Ser­vice com­menc­ing at 5am. The Guest Speaker on this oc­ca­sion will be Air Vice-Marshal Bob Treloar AO, for­mer Com­man­der Aus­tralian Theatre 1999 to 2001.
