Anzac services in Hornsby
ANZAC Services in Hornsby on and around this year’s Anzac Day, 25th April
Sunday 22 April
A Commemoration March will be held through Hornsby on Sunday 22 April. Marchers will assemble adjacent to St. Peters Anglican Church on Peats Ferry Road from 10am and march to the Hornsby Cenotaph for an ANZAC Service at 11am. The March will include Veterans, politicians and other VIPs, Emergency Service Members, and students from local primary and secondary schools.
Police will close all relevant roads from approximately 10.15am. The March will commence at 10.40am and proceed along Peats Ferry Road to the Hornsby Cenotaph. A military Catafalque Party Guard of Honour from 226 Australian Cadet Unit will be mounted prior to the Service commencing at 11am. The Guest Speaker on this occasion will be Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra.
After the Service, Veterans and eligible participants will be invited for refreshments at Hornsby RSL Club.
Wednesday 25 April
The ANZAC Dawn Service will be held on Wednesday 25 April. Veterans, politicians and other VIPs, Emergency Service Members, and other eligible participants will assemble from 4am outside Hornsby RSL Club and march to to the Hornsby Cenotaph at 4.45am. Police will close all major roads in the area from 4am, with major barriers in place to deter potential threats.
A military Catafalque Party Guard of Honour from 226 Australian Cadet Unit will be mounted prior to the Dawn Service commencing at 5am. The Guest Speaker on this occasion will be Air Vice-Marshal Bob Treloar AO, former Commander Australian Theatre 1999 to 2001.
