The Lions Club of Hornsby is cel­e­brat­ing the 60th an­niver­sary of its Char­ter and for its spe­cial event on 11 Septem­ber it wants to hear from former mem­bers and friends to help make the an­niver­sary a mem­o­rable one. The spe­cial guest is PIP Barry Palmer AO and his wife Anne. The event is on Tuesday 11 Septem­ber at Hornsby RSL Club Show­room, start­ing 6.15 for 7.15. Dress is black tie/af­ter 5, and tick­ets are $65 per per­son for a two course din­ner and cof­fee. They’ll be sup­ported by the tal­ented Syd­ney Grammar String Sex­tet. Hum­ming­song has an on­go­ing com­mit­ment to sup­port Women’s Com­mu­nity Shel­ters and aims to do­nate $20,000 from the sale of SONGS & STRINGS con­cert tick­ets to WCS’ Outreach Pro­gram, sup­port­ing women and chil­dren es­cap­ing do­mes­tic abuse.
