BIRTH PLAN?

Archie’s birth was pretty dif­fi­cult. I was a week over­due, and then booked in to be in­duced, but I ac­tu­ally went into labour nat­u­rally in the mid­dle of the night. I still went into the hos­pi­tal and got in­duced, just to speed things up. We all thought the birth was go­ing to hap­pen pretty quickly, then I got to about eight cen­time­tres and I stayed at that for a few hours. Then the doc­tor re­alised my baby was stuck and pos­te­rior, so we were all wait­ing for him to turn – but he didn’t. I ended up hav­ing an emer­gency cae­sarean.

I beat my­self up about not hav­ing a nat­u­ral birth, but on my blog (www. bec­mark­s­thes­pot.com.au) I wrote about not hav­ing a birth plan and I kind of proved my­self right, as noth­ing goes to plan.
