Q Some­one said I shouldn’t give honey to my nine-month-old baby. What’s the risk? A Nutri­tion­ist Dr Joanna McMil­lan says: There is an ex­tremely small risk of bot­u­lism, a dis­ease caused by the tox­ins pro­duced by a bac­terium that can be found in honey. For this rea­son, it is not rec­om­mended to give honey to ba­bies un­der one year.
