Safety FIRST

Keep these tips in mind when you’re shopping for furniture and soft furnishings.

Mother & Baby (Australia) - - Design Special -

1 Choose a cot that complies with Australian product safety standards to prevent your baby’s limbs and head from becoming stuck between the slats. To reduce the risk of SIDS, keep soft toys, pillows, doonas, bumpers or lamb’s wool out of the cot.

2 Make sure the cot is positioned away from curtains and cords so bub is unable to reach out and grab them.

3 Cover electrical outlets with curved edges to keep bub safe.

4 If you have wooden floors, place a non-slip rug underneath the cot and change table to prevent them from moving around.
