Take the (pelvic) floor

Mother & Baby (Australia) - - The Buzz -

When you’re running around after a family, the last thing you want to waste energy on is worrying about light bladder leakage (LBL) whenever you cough, laugh or sneeze. A recent survey by Poise found that, even though 86 per cent of mums have experienced LBL, many are reluctant to talk about it. Of those affected, 46 per cent said they’d avoided socialising, physical activity and intimacy because of feelings of embarrassment, anxiety and loss of confidence related to LBL. Working on your pelvic floor muscles over time will stem the flow but, in the meanwhile, specifically designed pads can help. See your GP if you have concerns.
