DESIGN A T-SHIRT

Mother & Baby (Australia) - - Father Focus -

It’s really simple to transfer your toddler’s drawing on to a light-coloured T-shirt to make a one-off, customised, super-cute present for Dad. He’ll love it, and your youngster will love it even more. All you need is a cotton T-shirt, fine sandpaper, wax crayons, absorbent paper towel and an iron. What’s that? You’ve already got all those things? Well, let’s get started!

1 First, get your toddler to draw a colourful picture of her dad on fine sandpaper using the wax crayons.

2 Go over her design with the crayons, pressing hard, so there’s plenty of crayon wax on the sandpaper.

3 Take a cotton T-shirt and place a sheet of card inside it so that the design doesn’t bleed through to the back.

4 Place the sandpaper face-down on the front of the T-shirt. Cover with a sheet of paper towel.

5 On the hottest setting and with the steam function off, iron the layers for 30 seconds, keeping the iron moving.

6 Remove the paper towel and carefully peel off the sandpaper.

7 Replace the paper towel and iron for 30 more seconds to set.
