It’s really simple to transfer your toddler’s drawing on to a light-coloured T-shirt to make a one-off, customised, super-cute present for Dad. He’ll love it, and your youngster will love it even more. All you need is a cotton T-shirt, fine sandpaper, wax crayons, absorbent paper towel and an iron. What’s that? You’ve already got all those things? Well, let’s get started!

First, get your toddler to draw a colourful picture of her dad on fine sandpaper using the wax crayons.

Go over her design with the crayons, pressing hard, so there’s plenty of crayon wax on the sandpaper.

Take a cotton T-shirt and place a sheet of card inside it so that the design doesn’t bleed through to the back.

Place the sandpaper face-down on the front of the T-shirt. Cover with a sheet of paper towel.

On the hottest setting and with the steam function off, iron the layers for 30 seconds, keeping the iron moving.

Remove the paper towel and carefully peel off the sandpaper.

Replace the paper towel and iron for 30 more seconds to set.
