There’s more than three times as much fi­bre in whole­grain bread as in white bread, which will re­ally help if your tod­dler is prone to con­sti­pa­tion. Whole­grain bread also pro­vides vi­ta­mins and min­er­als, in­clud­ing iron and zinc. If your tod­dler prefers the white va­ri­ety, grad­u­ally make the move to whole­grain by first switch­ing to a bread that is half white and half whole­grain; it’s much eas­ier to make this healthy swap at an ear­lier age than later in life.
