Q Can I put my baby in the bath with me? And if I do, are there any safety considerations?

A Midwife Megan Baker says: It’s fine to share your bath with baby, but you should delay doing this until your baby’s cord stump has healed and your post-delivery bleeding has stopped. Also, make sure you have another adult around to hand you the baby once you’re in the water. You shouldn’t try to get in and out of the bath while holding the baby. You’ll also need to adjust the bath temperature so that it’s comfortable for bub, so it might be a little cooler than you’re used to.
