QDo I need to give my 13-month-old baby any special vitamin supplements? He eats pretty well.

ANutritionist Dr Joanna McMillan says:

Supplements are not necessary if your baby is eating a good range of foods. However you may consider giving him an omega-3 supplement as it can be difficult to get enough of these essential fatty acids through diet alone. Otherwise it’s safe to give a multi-vitamin which has been specially formulated for that age group, but avoid giving him any individual nutrient supplements. If you are concerned about your child’s food intake or if there are health concerns, speak with your GP, dietitian or other health professional.
