STEPS TO HELP BABY SETTLE TO SLEEP

Mother & Baby (Australia) - - Expert Advice -

“Set up healthy sleep habits to slowly help teach your baby how to self-settle over time, such as using the five Ss:

Swaddling in a nice arms-down swaddle;

Shushing (DIY or try using a baby shusher);

Swinging or motion to help settle baby;

Sucking – which before 12 weeks baby finds extremely comforting; and

Some hands-on side settling – but always moving baby to the back position once settled or asleep.” Narisha Ashelford, certified infant & child sleep consultant [Baby Sleep Consultant Australia])
