Woah, baby!

Mother & Baby (Australia) - - The Buzz -

Why do contractions hurt? At full-term, your uterus is the largest muscle in your body, so when it contracts, you’re going to know about it! The longer contractions, lasting up to a minute, restrict blood flow to the uterine muscle, resulting in a feeling of extreme cramping. Contractions also push your baby down and open your cervix for bub’s delivery, which also causes feelings of stretching, pressure and… yes, pain.
