Holden reveals NG Commodore
HERE IT is, Holden’s all-new imported NG Commodore. Based on the 2017 Opel Insignia, Holden’s fifthgeneration large car adopts sleeker styling with a coupelike profile, its dimensions appearing close to midsizers like the Mazda6 but in reality almost identical to the current VF II.
As reported previously, engine choice will be 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinders in either petrol or diesel form for front-drive models while Australia exclusively scores a range-topping all-wheel drive variant powered by a 230kW/370Nm 3.6-litre V6.
The top-spec Commodore will also feature three-mode FlexRide adaptive dampers and a nine-speed auto, while also including tech such as Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, 8.0-inch touchscreen and front/rear heated seats.
Pricing for the Germanbuilt NG is still yet to be confirmed but it is expected to be in showrooms in early 2018. Search ‘NG Commodore’ at motormag.
