Motor (Australia) - - THE NEWS -

ONE OF Australia’s largest motorsport facilities is on track to open its doors in early 2018, with construction of the main circuit and pits to be largely completed by January, closely followed by a 4x4 track, hotel and small stadium track for drifting and other events.

In the future, a karting circuit, drag strip and airstrip are also planned for completion with the entire facility reported to cost $100m to develop with state and federal governments tipping in $7m.

The main circuit is set to be the longest in Australia at 7.7km in total length, however, a 4.9km circuit is under consideration for a Supercars round in 2018 as well as several local and international race series.

Located an hour east of Adelaide, Tailem’s primary focus will be track days, with a golf club-style membership system in place to allow use of the facilities.

Construction is well progressed for SA’s exciting new motorsport facility
