GREAT READ, ONE THING

Motor (Australia) - - THE VENT -

Thank you for the trip down memory lane in your Lion King (MOTOR, November 2017) issue. I, like thousands of other Holden fans, feel so sad this has happened and felt that your 60-page special feature section gave due credit for some very underestimated cars.

One thing I’m a little disappointed about is the writer on page 86 says the A9X’s steering rack was welded to the front sub frame when it was in fact solidly bolted to the front cross member. What went wrong there?

Mal Irving, via email You’re right, steering gear was directly mounted to the chassis. We are truly sorry. And as an outfit that aims to be correct as possible at all times, we are as annoyed as you. We’ve consulted the perpetrator and it apparently was a slip of mind. We’ll thumb the screws into him for you.

I drive a 400Nm front-driver, it takes skill to avoid wheelspin, but I call it fun!
