LAMBO PIPELINE: 2020-2025

Motor (Australia) - - FEATURE | LAMBORGHINI HEADQUARTERS -

What’s on the drawing board at Sant’Agata?

CONFIRMED

NEXT-GEN AVENTADOR 2022

Its VW Group overlords wanted a turbo V8. Lamborghini fought to keep V12, and won. With a compact hybrid module, power goes up to 630kW.

HURACAN SUPERTROFEO 2022

Super-Huracan, with race-bred aero and very firm chassis settings.

HOT/HYBRID URUS 2023

A faster Urus is a no-brainer, as is a plug-in hybrid – handy for fleetaverage CO2 to offset the supercars. But there’s no rush to market.

EVO PERFORMANTE II 2023

A successor to 2017’s Huracan Performante, levelled-up by the Huracan Evo’s brainier computers.

NEXT-GEN HURACAN 2025

Shares new Aventador’s carbon chassis. Loses two cylinders to become a V8, possibly hybrid.

STILL A POSSIBILITY

HURACAN HYBRID

Originally slated for 2022 and still possible, but a hybridised Huracan is on ice for now.

ELECTRIC HYPERCAR

On the drawing board, target 2030. Solid-state batteries, co-developed with Porsche, up to 1000kW and 1500Nm. Fingers crossed.

2+2 V8 GT

Lambo has been absent from the front-engined GT market for yonks but its rivals have a foothold there. The sums need to add up.

HURACAN STERRATO

We love the Stratos-style crossover but Lambo is unsure it will sell.

NO LONGER A THING EV COMPACT SPORTS CAR

Considered as a Uracco-badged twin for the next Porsche Cayman but ain’t gonna happen now.
