MOUNTAIN BIKING ON SNOWDON
VOLUNTARY BAN KEEPS THINGS SWEET
There is a voluntary riding ban on Snowdon’s bridleways from 1 May to 30 September, between 10am and 5pm. This is to prevent accidents involving cyclists and walkers, when the paths to the summit are extremely busy. It’s worked well for the 14-odd years it’s been in place, and was agreed between Snowdonia National Park, Gwynedd County Council, the CTC (now Cycling UK), the Welsh Cycling Union and the International Mountain Bicycling Association.
