Summer’s nearly out, but there’s always time to squeeze in a few more rides
writing these columns, because things change by the time the magazine goes to press. Right now, I’m about to leave for Spain to compete in an FMB Gold event, and then I’ll fly to Whistler for the hugely-anticipated Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx. So, by the time you read this, I’ll have some more rad stories to share!
The past few weeks have been insanely busy for me. But instead of travelling to contests, I’ve been close to home, filming a video with Red Bull that’ll be released at the start of October. We started building a super-unique course back in April, when I was out of action with a broken wrist, so I had to figure out what crazy features to build without being able to test them. Then filming began, for 15 days, with the most insane slow-motion cameras and tricks on features I’ve always dreamt of building. I can’t wait for you all to see the project, as it’s pretty different and exciting. But you’ll have to wait until next month!
To all the young riders returning to school – try to squeeze some rides into the rest of the long(ish) evenings. And to all the parents – well, you finally have some peace again, so get out and ride!
Matt puts his tech hat (OK, Red Bull helmet) on to talk through Marin’s funky-looking new Wolf Ridge for the cameras It can be a tough life being a professional mountain bike rider...
Massive jumps? Check. Energy drink? Check. Barspin-ready brake cabling? Check. Matt’s good to go!
