Magicshine MJ906 2018 £126.98

Mountain Biking UK - - WRECKED & RATED -

It may not be quite as powerful as claimed, but Magicshine’s latest app-tunable package is still a brilliant bargain. The claimed 5,000-lumen max seems more like half that on the trail, and while the central punch is still enough for flat-out riding, the five-LED arrangement throws out some weird-shaped edges, which can be distracting. While the O-ring mount won’t shift, it can still twang around on the roughest descents. The default set-up only has two solid modes before flash and strobe too. Thankfully, each setting can be tuned via a free smartphone app. Add a Bluetooth remote, optional rear light and top-quality Panasonic cells in a slim hardshell battery, along with excellent long-term reliability and UK back-up, and you just can’t beat it as a powerful, fully-featured package for the money.
