Our newest columnist introduces herself
I’m stoked to be scribbling a column in MBUK every few months. I’ll be raving on about all sorts of MTB-related things and what I’ve been up to. I hope you enjoy it!
A little bit about me… I grew up in New Zealand and moved to the UK four years ago (yes, people think it’s odd, but it’s something I’ll explain in articles to come!). I raced DH World Cups for six years until, at the end of 2016, I fell in love with more of a ‘freeride’ approach to riding. I’ve since been learning tricks, making videos and generally loving being competitive with myself and my own progress, rather than other riders and the clock. I ride for a rad bunch of companies who’ve made it possible for me to make a living from riding – which is more than a dream come true!
Having moved to the South Wales valleys from Bristol a few weeks ago, I’m still blown away by the fact that I can ride from my doorstep to some of the sickest trails around! I’m currently gearing up for a busy month of filming, women’s events and a trip to Israel with Marin Bikes. Exciting! I hope everyone’s enjoying the crisp autumn vibes (my favourite time of the year). Message me on Instagram (@veroniquesandler) if there’s anything you’d like to hear me blabber on about in my columns!
Say cheese! Another Insta-banger in the bag
Two-wheeled fun in the woods doesn’t always involve riding a mountain bike...
Vero may not race DH any more but she’s still pretty handy on a bike
