Hayes bring their A-game

Mountain Biking UK - - FIRST LOOK -

The all-new Dominion A4 marks Hayes’ return to the high-end brake market. With a powerful four-piston design, the brand’s stiffest calliper yet and a chunky weight of 504g per end (brake, 180mm rotor, bracket and hardware), it looks best suited to enduro, downhill and e-bike duties. It’s got some neat features, including a dual-port bleed system, glide rings for smoother piston movement and grub screws for hassle-free calliper alignment. Hayes have also placed a lot of emphasis on lever feel. The brake has been designed to have the shortest dead stroke (lever throw before the pads start to move) possible and a crisp bite point, and the blade pivots on cartridge bearings for a lighter feel. Could this be the stopper that ends SRAM and Shimano’s domination? www.hotlines-uk.com
