Michelin Wild Enduro Rear Gum-X3D TS TLR tyre £43.99

Mountain Biking UK - - WRECKED & RATED -

Michelin’s rear-specific Wild Enduro tyre was designed with input from some of the world’s best enduro racers, including Nico Vouilloz. Weighing 1,108g (27.5x2.4in) it’s not the lightest out there, but its strength, tread pattern and rubber compound make it an all-around trail killer. A 3x33tpi ‘Gravity Shield’ casing and Pinch Protection system on the bead add some extra weight over its front counterpart, but mean you get a secure, well-damped ride that makes it feel like you’re connected to the trail. Most importantly, we’re yet to puncture this tyre. The ‘GUM-X3D’ compound and smaller, tighter-spaced knobs (compared to the front version) allow it to roll well, but its standout feature is its grip. The evenly-spaced, taller side knobs deliver predictable, confidence-inspiring cornering traction, while the smaller centre blocks dig into the dirt and deliver top-notch braking grip. We’ve found durability to be good too, with little wear even after a hard summer of riding. Luke https://bike.michelin.com
