Fox Launch Pro D3O elbow pads £90

Mountain Biking UK - - WRECKED & RATED -

When we pulled the Launch Pros on for the first time, they felt quite tight. The position of the Velcro strap around the bicep, just above the elbow, gave us concerns about arm pump too, but out on the trail we were pleasantly surprised. They do feel a bit restrictive when your arm is fully bent, due to their chunky construction and the minimal elasticity of the abrasion-resistant sleeve, but this is something you rarely do while riding. The snug fit, silicone strips and Velcro strap do an impressive job of holding them in place, with zero slippage. Protection is provided by a thick, impact-hardening D3O insert, housed in a neoprene sleeve, beneath a detachable plastic cap. We felt the Velcro-on cap was unnecessary, but it’s easy to remove without compromising the ample protection too much. Although the neoprene sleeve is perforated, these pads are definitely a bit sweaty, so they’re best suited to lift-assisted runs rather than big days in the saddle. Ed http://uk.foxrac
