Opera on the moun­tain

FOR lovers of opera a spe­cial event is hap­pen­ing on Mt Buller – pre­sented by the Melba Opera Trust.

Broad­way to Buller – via La Scala, will be pre­sented in the Alpine Chapel on Satur­day, Au­gust 13 at 7pm and a gain on Sun­day, Au­gust 14 at 7pm.

Com­ing to Buller will be Zoe Drum­mond – so­prano; Bron­wyn Dou­glass – mezzo so­prano; and Jonathan Wil­son – repeti­teur scholar.

All are very ex­pe­ri­enced and tal­ented per­form­ers who will bring a full pro­gram of favourite and new opera pieces.

Favourite num­bers to be in­cluded on the per­for­mance list are Granada with Michael Butchard; Can’t Help Lovin’ dat man - by Bron­wyn Dou­glass; Hansel, come and dance with me - per­formed by Zoe Drum­mond and Bron­wyn Dou­glass; and We’ll Meet Again by the en­sem­ble.

All mu­sic will be acom­panied by as­so­ci­ate artist Jonathon Wil­son.

Mem­ber of the Buller Arts Coun­cil, John Lith­gow, said vis­i­tors to the moun­tain would be of­fered more in the way of live mu­si­cal per­for­mances this year and this con­cert - held over two nights - was just the be­gin­ning.
