Peak Pics photography com­pe­ti­tion en­tries still open

TIME is run­ning out to get those Peak Pics pho­tos en­tered for this year’s com­pe­ti­tion.

How­ever, en­tries are still open for Mt Buller’s own photography com­pe­ti­tion and film fes­ti­val as well as the Mt Buller Short Film Fes­ti­val, with pho­tog­ra­phers and film­mak­ers in­vited to sub­mit their best work for the chance to win some great prizes.

Open to pho­tog­ra­phers of all lev­els of ex­pe­ri­ence, from en­thu­si­as­tic am­a­teurs to savvy pro­fes­sion­als, Peak Pics con­sists of four cat­e­gories com­pris­ing of Peo­ple, Land­scape, Ac­tion and Light, un­der the theme “Never Miss a Mo­ment”.

A judg­ing com­mit­tee, headed by Mt Buller pho­tog­ra­pher Mark Ashkanasy will se­lect up to 12 fi­nal­ists, in­clud­ing one win­ner from each of the four cat­e­gories.

The col­lec­tion of pho­to­graphs will be framed and show­cased in an artis­tic dis­play in the Alpine Cen­tral build­ing at the re­sort.

Group man­ager of mar­ket­ing, sales and events for Mt Buller Re­sort Manage­ment, Gil­lian Dob­son, is look­ing for­ward to see­ing what en­tries will be re­ceived in 2016.

“Peak Pics and the Mt Buller Short Film Fes­ti­val are fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­ni­ties for peo­ple to show off their vis­ual arts skills and high­light the beauty of our alpine en­vi­ron­ment.

“Over the past few years we have seen in­cred­i­ble tal­ent across both com­pe­ti­tions, so we’re re­ally ex­cited to see what 2016 holds.

“The Peak Pics win­ners will be an­nounced on Satur­day, Septem­ber 17, with fan­tas­tic prizes up for grabs, in­clud­ing a pair of skis or snow­board.

“We en­cour­age ev­ery­one to get out and get snap­ping.”
