Pri­mary school kids knit­ting away

EACH year dur­ing third term of the school year, the Mt Buller Pri­mary School opens - un­der the aus­pices of Mans­field Pri­mary School.

This win­ter has 59 stu­dents in classes from prep to year 6.

The 5/6 stu­dents this term have de­vel­oped their busi­ness skills, in­clud­ing re­search, mar­ket­ing and fi­nan­cials. They have also all learned to knit. The stu­dents are cur­rently madly knit­ting head­bands and scarfs that will be for sale.

“It’s a pleas­ant change to walk into a class­room and see grade 5/6s knit­ting,” said class teacher Les­ley Dun­lop.
