Contenders are itching to compete in ‘Buller X’

Mt Buller News - - NEWS -

WELL over half a metre of snow fell across Mt Buller in the final week of August raising expectations and excitement about the possibility that the extreme ski event “Buller X” might get the conditions needed to run.

Event founder and director Tony Harrington has been scoping the chutes and checking on the snow pack with the help of Mt Buller’s ski patrol and mountain operations crew in recent days and is optimistic.

“The snow is loading in there for sure,” said an enthusiastic Harrington.

“I like the look of some more snow coming in early September and hopefully we can ‘yellow’ light the event soon.

The contenders are itching to compete and we just need the snow conditions to load up and then the skies to clear so we can hold an incredible event.

“We’ll keep updating the facebook and website as we get closer,” he said.

Local skiers including Olympian Anton Grimus, Watkin McLennan and Nat Segal are among the line up to compete in this new elite level event.
