Zoe ex­plained that myother­apy (mus­cle ther­apy) is a form of man­ual ther­apy that treats and helps pre­vent soft tis­sue pain and re­stricted joint move­ment.

“Myother­apy in­cor­po­rates trig­ger point ther­apy and a wide range of soft tis­sue mas­sage and ma­nip­u­la­tion, dry needling, cup­ping and joint mo­bil­i­sa­tion,” Zoe said.

“We also use stretch­ing, pre­scribed ex­er­cises, pos­tural ad­vice and heat and cold ther- apy to tar­get spe­cific mus­cle ar­eas.”

Zoe added that myother­a­pists give a spe­cial, very deep tis­sue mas­sage which can be painful dur­ing the treat­ment, but be­cause the ther­a­pist is al­ways interacting and gaug­ing just how much pres­sure the pa­tient can take, they end up achiev­ing op­ti­mal re­lease and re­lief from pain.

Also a qual­i­fied yoga and Pi­lates teacher, Zoe is pas­sion­ate about help­ing ath­letes build up their strength through these ef­fec­tive ex­er­cise prac­tices.

“Both yoga and Pi­lates give clients the abil­ity to re­hab through strength and stretch­ing pro­grams, en­abling op­ti­mal re­cov­ery from in­juries, chronic pain, acute flairs and many other con­di­tions,” said Zoe.

Zoe, who has skied Buller since she was five years old, worked at the Whitt, now heads up the ‘Re­hab & Re­lax’ cen­tre at Mt Buller Gym, level one at Alpine Cen­tral.
