Mountain Safe program
MT BULLER skiers have been starting to take heed of the advice ‘if you don’t know, don’t go’ and are signing up for the Mountain Safe programs launched this season by Tony Harrington out of his Photo Shop in the Village.
“We’ve had good interest this season and folks are keen to get better educated about how to handle themselves in the backcountry.
There is a session scheduled for September 18 which is a good opportunity for those who want to get some training in before heading off for the northern hemisphere winter.
For information go to www. mountainsafe.org.
The course is an introduction to terrain awareness and some basic skills around using a shovel, beacon and probe designed to help skiers and boarders in the backcountry.
