Pullin hits the slopes
MT Buller native Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin was present at a two-day snowboard cross festival on July 28 and 29, which was aimed at offering expertise to the next generation of riders.
Around 60 snowboarders, aged between nine and 19-years-old, participated at the event.
Among the other participants included fellow Olympians Cameron Bolton, Adam Lambert and Belle Brockhoff, along with expert coaches.
Pullin won the Snowboarder X event at Hotham Alpine Resort during the festival.
“Stoked to get this win,” the two-time world champion wrote on Facebook.
Pullin has come a long way since he began skiing at the age of three-yearsold on Mt Buller, and has plans to continue with his success.
Pullin was quick out of the gates from the word go, which is part of why he dominated from the beginning.
He has got his eyes on the prize of World Cup victory this season, and has been busy “ripping around Hotham” in recent weeks.
Reflecting on his successes, the veteran snowboarder has a strong desire to succeed in 2018 and 2019.
He plans on giving back to the sport of snowboarding at a grassroots level.
