Ex-NRL star to talk at gambling forum
RESIDENTS are invited to join the discussion on problem gambling when former Parramatta Eels player Nathan Hindmarsh shares his insights at Emerton today.
The former NRL star (pictured) will speak at a Prob- lem Gambling Forum at The Holy Family Centre, from 11am, on behalf of CatholicCare social services.
The forum will coincide with Responsible Gambling Awareness Week.
In 2012, Hindmarsh spoke candidly of his gambling ad- diction in his autobiography, revealing how he lost more than $200,000 on poker machines during his sixyear battle.
He will discuss gambling issues in the hope of reaching out to others battling the same demons.
The forum will be held at The Shed, at the The Holy Family Centre, on the corner of Emert Pde and Weber Cres, Emerton. Details: 8822 2222. For gambling help, call 1800 858 858 or visit gamblinghelp.nsw.gov.au.
