years of wedded bliss has been celebrated by Raymond and Edith Rogers of Glendenning. Mt Druitt state Labor MP Edmond Atalla paid tribute to the pair in parliament on May 7. The couple met in 1949 while Mr Rogers was doing an aircraft engineering course with the Royal Australian Navy in Scotland. Less than two years later they were married and had their first child. Despite a health setback in 2006 with a poor prognosis, Raymond’s determination to live for Edith saw him pull through. Raymond and Edith have five children, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
