M4 tunnels plan released

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

THE preferred design for the M4 East tunnels, the first underground stage of West-Connex running under Parramatta Rd, has been released.

WestConnex Delivery Authority chief executive Dennis Cliche said benefits for Mt Druitt and St Marys residents would include removing traffic pinch points.

“Work is already underway on widening the M4 between Parramatta and Homebush from three to four lanes in each direction,” Mr Cliche said.

“This work will remove the notorious pinch point around James Ruse Drive and will also include ramp upgrades, such as new direct access from Homebush Bay Drive to the M4 westbound.”
