THE St Agnes Catholic High School dance group has beaten eight other schools to compete in the Bring It On Dance grand final in August.

The competition saw teams judged on their originality of music, costumes and presentation plus the difficulty of their choreography.

St Agnes, based in Rooty Hill, was a wildcard pick based on the audience vote.

The hip-hop group started in term one with 27 girls but some of the boys have signed up for the grand final, bringing the total to 50.

The Bring It On Dance competition rules require that students do all the choreography, fundraising and presentation.

Dancer Daisy Taamilo, 15, said it was not about winning.

“It’s about having fun but it would be really cool to win anyway,” she said.

The grand final will be held in Fairfield on Saturday, August 1.

Kara, Teresa, Milla, Daisy and Amanda are part of St Agnes Catholic High School’s hip-hop group vying for glory in the grand final.
